I am sorry to hear you are struggling. It would help to know more details.

Are you pre-or post-op?

What phase/stage are you on?

What is your Protein target?

Are you tracking your food?

What exactly are you struggling with?

Meal wise, have a couple that I have made of late. Favorite by far is Crack Slaw, threw in a couple japelenos, extra siriachi, and sweetened with 3 packetts of Sweet and Low (otherwise followed directions). I love it by itself or wrapped lettuce. My daughter actually likes it as main ingrediant for either tacos or burritos. Definately low carb/high protien. The other one I like is lasagna, made with sliced eggplant. The trickis to bake the eggplant slices first, before using for layering. Tried the zuchini lasagna recipe first but didn'tt care for it, switched out with eggplant and love it.

on the weekend I will often put chicken breasts in the crock pot with salt, pepper and garlic and keep the shredded meat in the fridge. it is easy to add different types of seasoning to small amounts of the mix to get different flavors (italian with sauce if you are craving italian, greek seasoning or mexican depending on what you want)

I also do the same with a mix of ground turkey breast and ground sirloin. sometimes I portion some out, add black Beans and mexican seasoning toss on some shredded cheese and top it with a small dollop of reduced fat sour cream for a nachos flavor without the chips.

I keep several appropriate size containers on hand so I can portion this out on the weekend with different flavors for my lunch meals, so normally when I get ready for my work week I have 5 lunches ready to grab and go and they are all different.

for a snack this morning I had half a cup of reduced fat cottage cheese with 1/3 of an apple. very satisfying. if I need a snack this afternoon (I am the late person at work) I have a Power Crunch chocolate bar, because if we are here late, I am going to need some chocolate.

A rotisserie chicken makes several meals. My husband has a few slivers of smoked salmon, and I might have tuna on lettuce. We make very simple decisions in the kitchen now. One filet mignon feeds the two of us, when I find them on sale. Sometimes we have steamed cabbage and low fat turkey kielbasa. Fish is our favorite meal, saltwater such as Mahi, Grouper, Snapper, or flounder, with Old Bay seasoning, sautéed in a little EVOO.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
