Chicken Lady 102 Posted September 12, 2016 I'm 6 1/2 weeks out and I still have trouble with cold Water. I can usually only drink it room temp or warm Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
CSchulden 61 Posted September 12, 2016 I absolutely had this problem. I am 9 months out and there are still some days when it feels like the sleeve 'freezes'. It's much less and far between now, though. I would say after 3 months or so, I noticed drinking cold things felt more 'normal'. Good luck on your journey! Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 12, 2016 Yes, early out I was much better able to drink room temperature Water. I am over a year out now and can drink ice water, but still usually prefer room temperature.
turtle5569 91 Posted September 12, 2016 Thanks everyone I guess no more ice Water for a while. It's weird though, I have no problem with sugar free popsicles. Turtle5559
trekker954 421 Posted September 12, 2016 Everything is difficult the first few weeks, but it doesn't start returning to normal. Initially I couldn't drink plain Water at all, I had to play around, warm, room temp, cold, add tea or flavor; lots of testing. Now, I can drink anything, and especially Water and honestly I prefer out of the refrigerator. But when I'm out, I order water with ice and have no issues. I was so afraid, I'd never be able to take a good swig, or gulp. No issues now. That sip, sip sip at first, I never thought I'd get my Fluid requirement in. Now I still have to work at, especially if I have a busy day.
