I just wondered.... Anyone out there that is tired all the time. I eat Breakfast and do my meds, then weekdays I go for my 30min walk...once I'm done, I'm exhausted for the rest of the day. My bed time is 8p! When I have errands or soccer practice for my son...I'm so tired afterwards. Will this improve?? I read about everyone getting all this energy, when will I get some. I'm doing great on Protein, keeping fluids up and calories are where drs say...I just get tired so easily! Blah.

I am taking 6 weeks off from work after my upcoming surgery for exactly that reason. While I might be able to go back after 3-4 weeks, I know that this is going to be so physically taxing and that my energy (and thus most likely my creativity) will be compromised.

Once you are on solid foods for a couple of weeks, you will have less fatigue. At least I did. Body is still healing so just best to go along with it.

At least I know I am not abnormal and it gets better. Thanks!

I think you're pretty fantastic for making sure you get in that walk even though you know you'll be tired later! Your eyes are on the prize, good for you!

I am 7 weeks and just started back to work. I have been exhausted in the afternoon and evening after work. Taking my Vitamins And usually meet my Protein goals. Hoping it gets better.

Good for you for taking the time!

This is exactly why I am taking six weeks. Based on the information they gave me, I "should" be able to eat some meat (ground beef, turkey, chicken) at the beginning of week 7, and there was no way I was going to try to go back to work and be productive when I was on liquids or pureed things.

And when I go back, I'll work 1 week and then be off a week for Thanksgiving. I figure the 1 week back will be a good gauge of how I am going to be feeling going forward...

For me, it took a good 4 months to stop feeling so tired all the time. I'm still fatigued some days, but not the deep tired of the first few months.

It's normal and it gets a lot better.

I know exactly what you are going through. I was sleeved 8 22 16 and I'm always tired as well. Sometimes, It's tuff to even get my errands in. I am so happy to read I am not alone in this.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
