Wondering about wls youtubers channels

Recommended Posts

I have been following several wls youtubers and most dont post anymore or rarely. Rahcreate, melliemay, nerdinoregon and several more. I follow clusie and 2 more but would like to follow more that are still currently losing and not in the plastic phase yet. Any suggestions?

Oh my, I love Clusie! But I know what you mean, a lot of the people I follow are way ahead of me, looking into plastics, etc.

One I just started watching is "my vsg confessional". I met her in another discussion group, she is recently post-op.

I follow- experiencing nirvana, vsg Jodi, vsg Tonya, Chemistry Queen, Made Up Mama, and several others. They talk about each other, so then I will go look for the people they talk about.

I subscribe to all of them. Sometimes I will go back and watch all, or almost all, of their videos so I can see the story start to finish.

One I watched like that ended up depressing me. It was "less of Sarah". I watched hours and hours of her, she was super motivated and did great. Then she got divorced and stopped making videos as often and the last one she had gained 20 pounds and said she was doing fine but seemed depressed. It was upsetting to me :(

YOU should start a YouTube channel!

I'm so not a woman in front of the camera person lol. But thank you. I watch Nirvana too, but there is something I cant relate to her. I guess its the paranoia if her multiple wls left her at 300lbs, it could happen to me? Not sure. I still watch though.

I was actually going to share my journey on YouTube. My surgery is scheduled for sept 19th. I've never done any videos so i figured I'd try to film and upload an intro one this week before the main event.

I found another one, Danielle's VSG journey. She is awaiting insurance approval right now, just like me!

I understand what you are saying about Nirvana. I like her personality but she had so much to lose and still has so far to go. I kinda wanna find women close to my age and starting weight, I am 53 and so many of them are younger than I am. I still love some of them, but can't relate as much.

I keep looking. I find new ones every day. I really wanna watch Fat Doctor but I am also watching Stranger Things on Netflix (SO good) There are only so many hours in a day.

On top of those already mentioned above I also watch Leelee VSG, See Jane Shrink, and SJs journey..also recently watched some videos from Perforce. Being based in (and from) Africa it can be difficult to relate sometimes but i love their personal stories and sense of humors.

My freinds always say i should make videos. Why i don't know. I have nothing interesting to talk about lol. It'd probably be a bunch of rant videos and stuff anyway lol. But im definitely looking for new people to watch.

Wow, this is a great thread for me to read. I'm an old-schooler and I have a channel on YouTube and still post every now and then, but not very often: DIVA TAUNIA. (Gastric bypass 2008)

I actually didn't think anyone posted on YouTube about wls surgery anymore, but that's really just because the folks that were posting around the same time I was stopped doing so. It's really great to see all of these new faces and names, and I'm definitely going to check everyone out! :)

I now follow like 100 people, I am hooked!

Watch Finding Elizabeth and VSG Jodi. They talk about everyone else, including new people. Go see who THEY follow and you will have dozens of people to follow in a matter of days.

New people start making videos daily. You can see people who are at goal, close to goal, just a few weeks or months out, and people who are waiting for their surgery.

Now that I have a surgery date I may start making videos. I comment on a lot of them, people answer, it's very helpful.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
