off topic but.....where, what were you doing september 11, 2001?

My husband and I were watching the news and heard the alert about the first tower being hit. We of course thought it was a terrible accident until we saw the second plane hit the other tower. We looked at each other in speechless shock. No sooner than we saw this when they announced that the pentagon had been hit and flight 93 was missing. We watched in horrified disbelief as we watched all the death and destruction flashed over the news. How can anyone ever forget 9/11 2001?

I was working at a college. I came in and all the screens in the registrars office were tuned to the news. Seconds after I entered, the first tower collapsed. I didn't really know what was happening. There was still no context. As the day went on, we set up tvs in all the corridors. One of the math professors, an amazing man who makes math software for the visually impaired, was from Iraq. He said to me, "This is going to be so bad for both of my countries." How right he was....
