Is coffee band-friendly or not?

Recommended Posts

I've read a few posts here and there that indicated that the surgeons/clinics advise patients not to drink coffee (at least with caffeine). Is there a band related issue with coffee or is it just the general nutritional advice that too much (or any depending on who you talk to) caffeine is not a good thing? Just wondering because I've not gotten that message from my clinic (and happily drink coffee with my band) but would be interested in understanding if there is a specific band issue. Can anyone help? Thanks

It is the caffeine, and the diuretic qualities of caffeine. It's hard enough for lots of us to get our Water in, then if we drink caffeinated drinks (coffee, tea, etc) we are taking away what little Fluid we are getting in.

it (caffeine)takes away fluids AND it makes you crave sugar and all the things that you're supposed to stay away from! my doc doesn't recommend it.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
