Hi Everyone!

Today I had my last appointment with my surgeon! I also found out I'm having the bypass and not the sleeve anymore! I was curious to know what Multivitamins does everyone take on here? Did any make you feel sick! Taste good?

Please let me know! Thank you

I'm taking the children's complete chewable that's the walgreens store brand. They don't taste bad. Will probably switch to Celebrate multis after this bottle's gone.

I too changed from the sleeve to bypass. I am so thankful now because I got rid of all my comorbitities.

For the first 3 months i took a chewable Multivitamin, I believe it was Centrum and had added Iron. It tasted like most Vitamins but it was not bad. Then, I was switched to a simple generic Multivitamin that has added D3.

I also take Calcium citrate chews by Bariatric Advantage. They are expensive but necessary and they taste pretty good. Almost like a starburst but not as sweet. I have tried them all but strawberry is my favorite.

Then i take D3 once per day, B1 (this is because my thiamin was low at the 6 month stage) and B12 sublingual.

With the exception of my calcium chews, everything is very inexpensive. I buy them at walgreens on a buy one get one free or buy one get one 50% off.

So at this point, the only one i chew is the Calcium. the rest i swallow. They don't bother me at all, in fact Vitamins used to so i was not looking forward to it but it has been no problem.

The B12 i take once per week and it is a liquid that goes under the tongue for 30 seconds before you swallow it. Again, no problem to take this one.

I take the Bariatric Advantage Calcium chewy bites 500's and BA EA chewable multi in mixed fruit flavor. I like it. I also use Patch MD Iron, and Vitamin D/calcium, and glucosamine chondroitin(because since wls my joints have all gone to hell...actually they already were hell I just couldn't hear them screaming from all the pain of being overweight. Now I hear them!)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
