blahab1 4 Posted September 9, 2016 I love hearing everyone's story. I am very inspired. I a 54 year old female and ready to change my life. I have only shared my surgery with my s/o and my 3 sons. Like many, I have lost and gained 30-40 pounds only to gain it back and more. My BMI is 35 right now, on the edge for criteria for surgery. I have several co- morbidities that helped me get approval. For that I am thankful. A little scared of the recovery time as I am planning on going back to work in 10 days post. I am a field rep for a medical device company. My question is post op pain and timeline for feeling good. I lost my 29 year old son 1 year ago in a car accident, he was the picture of health. Surfer and yogi. Always watched everything he ate. He always tried to help me. His memory/ life gives me strength. I know if he were here, he would say " you got this mom" Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Leather'nLace 187 Posted September 9, 2016 I am so sorry about our son. I can't imagine the heartbreak. I wish you a smooth surgery and speedy recovery! I'm 17 days post op and the pain was mild to moderate. My main incision still is tender, but I went camping over Labor Day (only 10 days post op) and I did fine. Everyone handles pain differently, but I've had 3 c-sections and this surgery was a piece of cake compared to the sections. blahab1 4 Posted September 11, 2016 Thank you for sharing your journey Leather'nLace. Appreciate your kind support regarding my son too. I have also had 3 C-sections, thinking and hoping this surgery should be a bit less invasive. Getting excited more than scared now. Hoping you continue to heal well. Keep me posted on your recovery.
