Yaymissmay 13 Posted September 9, 2016 (edited) I had my sleeve surgery on Tuesday August 9th, and returned to work 2 weeks later. Before surgery I was on the highest dose of Concerta and it was an extended release. I have been struggling at work and school for the last two weeks. I was finally able to speak with a pharmacist to discuss how my new pouch absorbs my meds. I am now going to take immediate release, and hopefully this will get me back to where I was before surgery. Today, I am speaking with my boss and she is stating that I am off my A game and concerned. I have openly discussed my struggles with medications, recent surgery and life changes. Am I not allowed to be a little off my game as i understandable readjust to my new life? Should I request more time off? I thought I was really doing my best. When people went back to work, did you feel off and slowly getting back to normal? Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 9, 2016 I don't know about Attention Deficit but I was a bit fuzzy and unfocused for a few weeks post-op. I just chalked it up to anesthesia, low carbs, and generally recovering from surgery.
kelliev2015 136 Posted September 9, 2016 I was sleeved on 8/8 and also have ADHD. I've noticed that my Adderall was pretty much the only thing that made me feel normal after surgery. I'm on 10mg of instant release. Definitely give that a shot as the extended might not be absorbing correctly.
Yaymissmay 13 Posted September 9, 2016 Thank you, I am hopeful that it will be okay. I am still waiting on my meds to show up and get back on my "A" game. It's sad how insensitive people can be, and lost a lot of respect for my boss after today. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App
