Thank you NK and Ebony. I'm all prepped in the admissions room but got a few people ahead of me first. Feeling strangely calm though. I appreciate the messages. Chat to you on the flip side

Best of luck for tomorrow! Hope all goes well for you :)

It is great that your op is early in the morning!

My admission was at 2 pm, and I didn't get operated on till 7 pm.

At least the pre-med drugs I was given, put me to sleep, so the wait didn't seem that long .....

All the best!

Cheers @Krakow57. I've gotten all the nerves out. I'm off to have floatation tank session today as a little relaxing treat before the big day. ????

Well its day four post op. I got discharged yesterday and now I'm back home. I must say....Day two was a whole lot of nausea and vomiting....could barely keep anything down, not through lack of trying....yesterday I vomited once and that was late at night. Managed to keep down a bit of fluids but probably need to up my intake a bit. See how today pans out nausea and pain wise. 5kg down so I'm pretty stoked about that as well....the little bit of pain I am going through now will be worth the extra time I get spend with my family. ????????

Were you given any Zofran wafers for nausea?

Hope it gets better for you, otherwise call your surgeon.

Be careful re dehydration. I ended up getting Hydralyte (electrolyte fluid) for any emergencies, as I got badly dehydrated on day 10 or 12. It was a nasty experience. It felt like I was going into shock! Hydralyte fixed it in 15 minutes.

Good luck with your recovery!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
