Not sure what the cost but the other Ottawa Doc charged $75 for a fill. I think the Montreal Docs would take care of their own fills though??

Good luck

Woohoo! :whoo: I'm FINALLY under 300 pounds!!! It took a long time to start losing weight but the scale started going down in December.

So I've lost around 30 pounds but it doesn't show at all yet. My clothes are a bit looser - I'm looking forward to dropping sizes too.

So what are your weight-loss goals for the New Year? I'm going down south in March and would really like to be under 275 by then.

The next Ottawa group meeting is this Saturday, January 5th, 10:30 am at Denny's on Merivale.

I know a few new people are also interested in joining us. Is everyone still planning to be there? Can we make a reservation at Denny's?

Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Wow! Congrats on reducing your dress size! I can't wait to fit into a 3x again - I find it so much easier to find pretty clothes in the 1x-3x range.

The Denny's is at 1378 CLYDE AVE, NEPEAN, ON K2G 3H9

If you're coming from the Queensway, take the Maitland (south) exit. Maitland turns into Clyde and Denny's is just past the Baseline intersection.

If you're coming from the Champlain Bridge, continue straight to Merivale, past Baseline, and turn right on Clyde (the CJOH building is at this corner).

Woohoo! Bravo AZA!!!

I'm not having the same success unfortunately... I've had like 5 fills so far, I'm at 8 CCs and no restriction... I'm getting discouraged!

I will be there Saturday, I think we should make a reservation, but no idea how many we'll be... any ideas?

Annie

I will be there on Saturday! You cannot make a reservation at Denny's so my suggestion would be that we all meet at the front doors at 10:30 and then we can get a table that would accommodate all of us. Any Thoughts? I am looking forward to meeting everyone and hearing about your experiences as I am being banded January 24th and have lots of questions.

See you Saturday

Agnes

I will be there on Saturday, and I want to congratulate you on your success, I was so excited when I went from 5x to 3x to 1x and now I am in size 18, I have even bought some pants that were on sale size 16 and 14 that I know that I will fit into very soon. My goal is to be below 200 by April 9, 2008 when we leave for Cuba.

Thank you Linda.

I am going to Denny's tomorrow to meet everyone. Can someone tell me who is the Ottawa Support Group Organizer(s)?

Kindly,

Kate

I do not believe there is one organizer as some of us were from the Yahoo Band site and others from here... But, none the less... I will see you there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
