spunkyheather 10 Posted September 7, 2016 I am 7 days post op. I cannot find a comfortable position to sleep. I have a big body pillow and every time I try to sleep on any side, it gets achy. Any suggestions? Also, did anyone have insomnia? I wake up several times a night. Finally, being 7 days post op, I thought my pain would be gone. However, I still have continued dull pain from time to time. Is that normal? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
trekker954 421 Posted September 7, 2016 I'm 4 weeks out and still have severe insomnia. I was sleeping comfortably after a week so that isn't the issue. I don't know why. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
The Candidate 3,215 Posted September 8, 2016 You're very early out so I'm sure as you heal more over the next weeks you'll start to feel a marked improvement. When I was preparing for my own surgery I read how a lot of people had to sleep in a recliner for the first few weeks because of the comfort issue. I didn't have a recliner so I actually bought one, and then didn't even need it. I was lucky that I was able to sleep comfortably in my bed from the first night home. Maybe that'll help, try sleeping upright in a recliner and see if that helps any. BTW, I found that once the weight came off I slept a hundred times better. I stopped having to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom too. Hang in there and best of luck!
turtle5569 91 Posted September 9, 2016 I'm 6 days out and still on the recliner couch. I tried my bed tonight and it didn't sit well. I tried to lay on left side with a pillow for support, but it was too uncomfortable. I miss my bed!! Turtle5559
