Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 7, 2016 I had a check-up with my PCP today. What is awesome is that I no longer dread getting on the scale and no longer get the "you need to lose weight" lecture. My PCP is thrilled with my progress!

blizair09 3,250 Posted September 7, 2016 Yay! Mine hugged me at my medical clearance appointment week before last. (And she isn't a hugger.) Congratulations!!
WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted September 7, 2016 There you go, sashaying around and looking good in what on someone else would be an unattractive gown. You rock 'n rule!
Djmohr 6,965 Posted September 7, 2016 I know......it really never bothers me to go to the doctor any more. I look forward to the stupid scale. It makes me proud that I will never look at a 3 before my weight again! Congratulations! You have done so well and have been such an inspiration to others on this site. borg/assimilated 576 Posted September 7, 2016 @@Inner Surfer Girl, I can absolutely relate. I spent a few years refusing to be weighed (once I found out I didn't have to comply). I always said " I weigh every day, if the Doctor wants to know I will tell her". Had some nasty smirks from some of the MA's. Now I don't care if I have to get on the scale, and my Primary Doc thinks I am doing great. This is one of the blessings of WLS in my opinion.
Julie norton 2,850 Posted September 8, 2016 (edited) What a change. Congrats surfer girl! I also would choose "not to weigh" at the Drs . Now, I'm curious what the official scale says. It does not have the power to ruin my day and I really appreciate that change. Edited September 8, 2016 by Julie norton
Valentina 2,642 Posted September 9, 2016 Congrats on your joyful journey! I know that feeling about weighing in at the MD's office. Last week when I went to my plastic surgeon's office for a post op visit, the nurse forgot to weigh me. I was soooo disappointed that I stopped by the scale and reminded him to weigh me!!!! That would have NEVER happened pre WLS. Wonderful feeling! You're absolutely correct, Friend!
