KristenLe 5,979 Posted September 6, 2016 @@beccaslosinit It will also depend on what else needs to be done. After my insurance approval is when they ordered my pre-op testing. I was approved end of June and still don't have a surgery date yet. Hopefully yours will be faster!
beccaslosinit 8 Posted September 6, 2016 Me too @@KristenLe! I will have all my pre testing done the first week of October! Sent from my iPhone
Nana1222 159 Posted September 6, 2016 I'm curios were you able to maintain or lose weight during your diet? I go for my second weigh in next week I haven't lost but didn't gain either. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I had 3 visits and lost 3 lbs. My 2nd month I lost 0. That wasn't a problem for me (in terms of my Program) - but others have weight loss requirements and if there's any gain they have to start over.

wesher71 0 Posted September 7, 2016 I met with my surgeon today and have my psych appt next week. Of all the posts I've read on here I don't see anyone saying much about the psych piece. Do most people get by with just one psych appt? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

wesher71 0 Posted September 7, 2016 Thanks @"beccaslosinit", I started surgery process in 2014 and the psych then wouldn't clear me without multiple appts to see her then some other things came up in the middle of all that and I had to put surgery on the back burner. This will be a different psych so I'm praying it will be a one time deal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

KristenLe 5,979 Posted September 7, 2016 @@wesher71 I had a psych eval with a psychiatrist who is part of my Bariatric Program. During the eval - I asked for additional help with emotional eating issues (I thought I had a 6 month wait so figured I'd take advantage of it and get all the tools I could). I had bi-weekly sessions for 3 months with a psychologist and really feel like I got a lot out of those. I would recommend them to everyone going through this process.
