Losing,

We all have bad days. In my opinion if you think you can give into that carrot caek temptation in a SMALL amount so that you can avoid some of the other crap I would. I have found that if I can do that I am better off than tryin to avoid it forever. Go somewhere and have a small peice of carrot cake.....but do not buy a cake, just a piece! :) If you try to deny it, it will keep getting worse! Good luck....

justlosinme!! Girl -- i know how it gets... you can do this. When I get that bad, I just go to bed and sleep -- and think about all the yummy things that I can have for Breakfast. THAT usually helps. :-)

You are an inspiration and don't feel bad about eating one bad thing. I agree with BOOBOO. Sometimes it is best to allow yourself one "guilty pleasure" but LIMIT it to one... that way you are over it and go on with your life. There are LOTS of low calories recipes out there for something that tastes sweet but ISNT! I love sugar free/Fat free pumpkin pie (without the crust)... YUM!

Hey Losinjusme,

This will pass. It absolutely totally completely sucks, but it WILL pass. You are such an inspiration to me, and you have already done so much and made such incredible progress. You are dedicated and amazing, you don't have to perfect on top of all that!

Oh, and...

I'm staying on plan today because the next time I get on a plane, the seatbelt is going to fit and I am going to put my little tray table all the way down!

I stayed on plan today because I was determined that, for once, I was going to start being "good" on a Saturday and not use the weekend as an excuse to pig out so I could "start again" Monday.

I will stay on plan tomorrow because I am disgusted with my lack of progress and disappointed in MYSELF and starting to doubt the decision to get the band. Yet, I know it's MY fault and not the band's.

...in addition to myself...my children and husband are worth it. I won't do to my family what my parents did to us. (Both died of lung cancer in their 50s...) Addiction is not an excuse to kill yourself.

I gave up going to Typhoon Lagoon and out to dinner in order to stay on this plan. I'm not going to ruin today now!

Btw, losingjustme... when you do your free days (once a month I think?) is it hard to get back on track? I've done free days before, usually once a week (eek!) and sometimes I extend them into free weekends, etc...

Hang in there losinjusme! You have done great so far - you can do it!!! Everyone has rough Patches.

I'm staying on plan because I'm almost out of 'fat' clothes into regular sizes. Can't wait to say goodbye to lane bryant forever!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
