DQ cheat -- dang it! Help!

I am the same way with coke (soda, pop, etc). I drank at least 6 cans of it a day.. particularly Mt. Dew.. When I went in for my first consultation with my new doctor (1 month pre-op) he said I couldn't drink carbonation post-op. So I started THAT DAY to prove to myself I can do this. I haven't had a coke since.. It was rough, and still is sometimes. We don't keep any cokes in my house anymore, DH who also loves it, will get it at work and not parade it in front of me or have it in the house to tempt me.. But every time I go to my parents house to watch movies or family cook out, there it is.. rows of Grapico, Mt. Dew and Coca Cola. It kills me!! I want one SO bad.. I just have to close the fridge and distract myself. This is something, that if I allowed myself 'one every once in a while', it would be my downfall. I can't control my 'addiction' to cokes.. so I have to just stop!

I think stopping at a medium blizzard is a start. Move along :)

Don't dwell on it, just take it for what it is.. a weak moment. Any weak moments I have with things I shouldn't have, I exercise more that day to make up for it.. which I don't want to do anyway, so it kind of balances out.. is it really worth having to walk another mile just to eat xxx? Probably not.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
