turtle5569 91 Posted September 6, 2016 I made homemade chicken Soup for the family and I just ate the broth. I cooked it with carrots, celery, green onion, garlic, cabbage and a few pieces of chicken thighs. I added a little lite salt and pepper. Do you think this is ok for the 1st week after surgery. Or should I be buying organic fat free broth? What's your thoughts? Turtle5559
chycky 671 Posted September 6, 2016 Likely fine. If your program says broth you probably just need to strain.
suzzzzz 1,005 Posted September 6, 2016 Sounds great. Store bought is not required!
KristenLe 5,979 Posted September 6, 2016 @@turtle5569 It's probably better for you and I'm sure it tastes alot better too!
ShelterDog64 2,364 Posted September 6, 2016 Your broth is lower in sodium and likely much healthier than store-bought! Enjoy it
highfunctioningfatman 2,675 Posted September 6, 2016 I have been "stealing" the broth from Safeways hot Soup bar. I grab it from chunky chicken noodle. By the time I'm done it is super chunky! I transfer some into one of my wife's insulated coffee mugs and sip away. I just look like an everyday coffee freak now.
