Feeling way less than motivated.

So.. I had my surgery on May 9th, had my first fill around a month afterwards and ever sense I've lost no weight. Stuck at a 24 lb loss for 2 months now.

At work recently, I had noticed I was short of breath so I went to my doctor yesterday and found out I have high blood pressure. I'm 25 years old, how could that be possible?

Luckily, I go for another fill on Sept. 11th but I think what it all boils down to is I need to fit in more exercise but when you work all the time and have to come home to household chores.. where do you find the time?

Anyone have any suggestions on how to deal or what helps give you a boost?

Thanks

Shannon

I know the feeling... When I am out of routine it is so hard to get with the exercising! I find if I start out really slowly with the exercise I'm more likely to start. I tell myself "I'll just go on the treadmill for 10 minutes, at any speed.. that's it".. I find if I do that, I can get on the treadmill.. and I always go LONGER than 10 minutes... But it makes it easier to get on the treadmill in the first place- does that make sense?

Start out doing anything - five minutes, ten minutes.. whatever gets you moving! I always tell myself "the hardest part is putting on my exercise shoes" - in that the decision to exercise is always harder than the task itself! If you can do just a little and work your way up, exercise isn't as scary. Goodluck!!

Now I need to go follow my own advice :whoo:

Shannon,

sorry about your high BP.

you may just have to suck it up and make time. i couldnt find the time either, so i get up at 420 each morning and go work out. before, i would crawl (begrudgingly) out of bed about 615-630 ... major change, but the exercise has helped SOOOOO much.

good luck.

Actually, that makes perfect sense lol

I'm slowly trying to get back on track. Stopped drinking regular drinks again. I was doing so well with it for the first 3 weeks after surgery and then I allowed myself a sip which turned into a glass and then one glass a day and now all the time.

I just need to get off my butt and start exercising! :whoo:

Does that somehow make you feel more energized throughout the day? I mean getting up that early. I've heard it helps a lot to get up an hour or two earlier and workout but never tried it. Sounds like a good idea to atleast try lol Thanks!

to be honest, it all depends on my day. if i have a busy day and time flies, things are great, no droopy eyes on the drive home. if it's slow at work, sometimes it is a chore driving home.

i love the feeling of accomplishment that i have done more in the early morning than most people have all day :whoo:

i am in SUCH a better mood when i just suck it up and do it.

good luck!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
