shelleys goal 23 Posted September 5, 2016 Has anyone experienced an increase in urination? I am a 5th grade teacher and I have a history of overactive bladder but really had it under control before surgery. (without meds) But since surgery I've had to go so much but mainly it's the sense of urgency. I can't keep leaving students alone for this.
James Marusek 5,244 Posted September 5, 2016 One of the conditions that I had prior to surgery was frequent urination. Generally I woke up once per hour during the night to use the restroom. This condition went away shortly after I had RNY gastric bypass surgery 3 years ago. So my experience is the opposite of yours. One of the requirements of gastric bypass surgery is to meet your daily Fluid requirements. So I may actually be taking in more fluids than I did prior to surgery. I am turning 68 years old this month and the problem of frequent urination is generally an age related problem.
shelleys goal 23 Posted September 5, 2016 Thanks for the input! My ketones are really high and I have clinical anxiety so I'm wondering if that could be causing it. I'm going to a urologist soon.. LibraryLadyDW 2 Posted September 7, 2016 Increased urination is also a symptom of diabetes. Go to a doctor and find out for sure. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
