krazy kat 107 Posted September 4, 2016 Starting day 6 of my 2 week liquid diet. Not really hungry...just really emotional and weepy...I assume this is normal. Plus my head keeps playing games telling me you know you want a juicy cheeseburger or pizza one LAST time!! It's horrible!! Try to distract myself and I end up going to bed early and tell myself I will cheat tomorrow just to silence the thoughts in my head!! Mind games start in evening cuz i do fine during the day. It's crazy! 9 more days til surgery. ..I'm going to be a basket case!! Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App
DogRescuer 5 Posted September 4, 2016 My surgery is scheduled for 09-21 and I am also on a liquid diet. I too am very emotional. In fact, it reminds me a lot of the emotional rollercoaster of pregnancy. I'm easily irritated and the tears are ready to fall at any given moment. Evening time seems to be the most difficult part of the day for me as well. I guess it's because I'm busy all day and don't have as much time to dwell on things. I've found that it helps to find something to keep me busy in the evening. Good luck on your journey. Sending well wishes your way. KristenLe 5,979 Posted September 4, 2016 Can you have broth and sugar free popsicles? Try having them in the evenings. Distract yourselves - take a bath, read, color, clean closets (get rid of big clothes you won't be wearing again, see what you have or need), paint your nails, go for a walk, etc. You both can do this! Remember the goal! Stay strong!
krazy kat 107 Posted September 4, 2016 I can have broth,sf popsicles and sf Jello so I tend to save for evening. I have mobility issues so physically doing things are difficult right now. Been working on my kitchen today tho. Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App
DogRescuer 5 Posted September 4, 2016 I've been reading quite a bit. I've finished two John Grisham novels and have started on a third. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
#BirdDog 604 Posted September 4, 2016 I had to change up what liquids I was having during my pre-op. Would have Water, some with crystal light, chicken broth, Jello, Popsicles, even crushed ice. Crushed ice was nice because it was something I could chew on. The first week of the diet I kept working. One night was particularly rough when everyone else ordered pizza. I just stayed in my office and kept my eye on the ball. I was open with everyone at work so they didn't think I was being a jerk by separating myself from their dining. They've been really supportive. The second week I went and saw a movie each day at the theater and did one project around the house. Went to bed early each night and stayed focused on the goal.
