highfunctioningfatman 2,675 Posted September 4, 2016 Had a bunch of family and friends over tonight. Rib eyes, shrimp, a potato, onion and mushroom dish all on the grill. My wife did broccoli balls in the oven. Of course I can't have any of it. I had broth and that's ok. At 4 weeks out I can have normal foods. I did realize that watchin them eat is like going to a strip club, no matter how much ya wanna, ya ain't gonna get any!

JayVSG 21 Posted September 4, 2016 Agreed, watching commercials are like watching Cinemax now, it will be better when I can have something other than Protein drinks and Water Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
cindyw41 761 Posted September 4, 2016 I found watching the food network almost therapeutic in those early days. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
thatmeanone 240 Posted September 4, 2016 I can totally relate. I literally came home from the hospital to my mother in law cooking for three straight days to "make me feel better". She is an 80 year old, size 2 Dynamo who just doesn't get it. I've also, at less than 2 weeks out, had two birthday parties in my house - and have already gone out to dinner (I had like three spoonfuls of the broth from French onion soup). And I went to a dinner party 5 days after surgery at a friends house. You know I never really thought about how much of my life revolved around food until I wrote that out. Anyhow it hasn't been that bad- I find the aftermath harder to deal with - when the leftovers are here and the people are gone - but I just remind myself that it's in my head and I'm doing alright.
