I had my surgery on August 2nd 2007 and am doing so well. Lost 8 LBS in the 1st 12 days and more now. I go to the Doc again on the 11th of September to talk about a fill and will be weighed again . I do not weight myself at all at home or at any other Docs office but my surgeons, because I tend to overreact and :)become a bit obsessive. Tee Hee, but thats just me.

I am on the regular food phase. The doc wanted me on regular food for 2 weeks before my appointment on the 11th of September so I can tell them if I am hungry between meals or not. If I am then I need my first fill and if not then I do not need a fill. I think I am a little, but have problems deciding if I am just trolling for food or if I am actually hungry. That may seem wierd but I do not have a lot of practice at being hungry you know what I mean? I never gave myself the chance to be hungry so I am not sure if I would recognize hunger if it bit me. Ha!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
