Recommended Posts

So I only have 30 pounds to lose and I wanted to do it by my birthday which is September 22 so I got the bright idea to do the lemonade cleanse.... And I was drinking the flat tummy tea, both of those things are laxative, needless to say I have been going to the bathroom for five days straight....... Don't know what I was thinking the Cayanne pepper has totally messed my stomach up any ideas on how to fix this diva in distress....help me please.... And I'm wondering if at the time I decided to do this cleanse that I caught a virus I'm not sure but I need help....

Myree

I have no idea how to help you but if it's too bad you should contact your doctor.

Praying you get the answers you are looking for. Don't feel bad we all do things we regret later, and don't think I haven't thought of things as well. I don't feel like I have done well in the two weeks from surgery. Best of luck and Happy early Birthday.

FYI I know that when I was put in hospital Monday for dehydration the NP has talked to me about using Imodium but I was not about to do that, only a week out from surgery. Keep your chin up

Hope you feel better soon. There's a nasty stomach bug going around my area that my grandkids gave to me last week. Luckily it passed fairly quickly since I was at a loss on what to do post op. Preop I would have eaten bananas, rice and toast for stomach upset. All things I tend to avoid now.

This is a support group. Let's remember that. I would call your Dr and see if you can take imodium.

Thanks for the reminder that this is a support group, person with 3 whole posts! I really wasn't sure what this group was until you came along to tell me.

Resurrecting an old post to tell others to be supportive - seems like a common theme today.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
