Had my sleeve 8/31. Came home on puréed foods . My surgeon and nut said I should have 3 oz of food 3 times a day with 8oz of Protein shake in between if I can tolerate it. I have no appetite at all . Yesterday I had a meatball I mushed it and it took me over an hour but I did eat it. Needless to say I didn't get the shake in because I was full. I feel like I want to try Peanut Butter it smells good although it has a lot of Protein it also has a lot of fat. Did anyone have Peanut Butter on puréed ?? Is it bad at this stage .

I would hold off on peant butter so soon. It is sticky and will cause your stomach to churn a lot to digest it. And, get your Protein in first with the shakes or protein supplemented liquids. You won't be able to reach your goals otherwise.

My Peanut Butter craving was satisfied by adding a little PB2 to my shakes.

You won't be "hungry" for a while but try to keep your meals to 30 mins. We can eat anything if we stretch it out. I had meatloaf on my puréed stage. I put it in my mini chopper and ate it with a little bit of mashed potatoes. I wasn't able to eat more than 1/4 cup overall.

If it helps you to stay on a schedule there are tons of examples online. It was the only way I could get my liquid and Protein in during those early days. I set my Fitbit to remind me to eat but there are apps like Baritastic that have timers.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
