melbell2222 244 Posted September 2, 2016 I see my doctor next week and I had my surgery 8/22 so now I'm just wondering when did y'all start working out like jogging? I feel like I'm stuck at 295 and it won't go lower ... I was 305 when I had my surgery. Any ideas?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Jade99 40 Posted September 3, 2016 I've been walking around the house. I started doing some walk away the pounds. Next week I'm hopefully can just take daily walks to the mailbox and back. (my box is not in front of my apartment). I'm looking forward to lifting weights again.
ocgirl15 667 Posted September 3, 2016 I wasn't cleared for jogging or lifting weights until 6weeks out. Limit exercise to walking for now or at least until your doc says it is ok. A stall at this point is very normal. So don't worry about the scale. Stay on your nutrition plan and walk as much You can.
leighandy 3 Posted September 3, 2016 I had my surgery 8.22, too! I'm bad about weighing myself every day and I've actually been up 2 pounds the last two days. It's stressing me out! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
SoExcited101 190 Posted September 3, 2016 I had my surgery 8 22 16 as well and was told to just walk and wait a few weeks before doing weights and hard training. I also just walk around my house, the left side of my stomach still bothers me to be doing anything strenuous. bypasswitch 30 Posted September 3, 2016 i wasnt cleared to do anything but walk until 6 weeks out. not even lift anything over 10 pounds. i think its to make sure we dont give ourselves a hernia. i would walk around the house all day and vacuum or dust. needless to say i had a very clean house for 6 weeks haha! take it easy and good luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
MzJinx92 0 Posted September 4, 2016 I had surgery on 8/23 and was told that I can only walk for at least a month. Once I go back they will let me know what else I'm able to do. I'm kind of at a stand still as well but just keep focusing on the prize. A healthier me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Babbs 14,681 Posted September 4, 2016 I was sleeved on 8/22 also....2 years ago lol. What's going with your weight loss has nothing to do with whether you're exercising or not. Your body is in starvation mode and that is triggering a stall. It's totally and completely normal and usually happens 2-5 weeks out from surgery. No worries. Get your Protein and fluids and stay the course. The stall will pass and you'll be back to losing in no time!
melbell2222 244 Posted September 5, 2016 Yeah I can see why they want you to Waite bc the cells-muscles are still growing back. Lol I need to not rush Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
