I see my doctor next week and I had my surgery 8/22 so now I'm just wondering when did y'all start working out like jogging? I feel like I'm stuck at 295 and it won't go lower :( ... I was 305 when I had my surgery. Any ideas??

I've been walking around the house. I started doing some walk away the pounds. Next week I'm hopefully can just take daily walks to the mailbox and back. (my box is not in front of my apartment). I'm looking forward to lifting weights again.

I wasn't cleared for jogging or lifting weights until 6weeks out. Limit exercise to walking for now or at least until your doc says it is ok. A stall at this point is very normal. So don't worry about the scale. Stay on your nutrition plan and walk as much

You can.

I had my surgery 8 22 16 as well and was told to just walk and wait a few weeks before doing weights and hard training. I also just walk around my house, the left side of my stomach still bothers me to be doing anything strenuous.

i wasnt cleared to do anything but walk until 6 weeks out. not even lift anything over 10 pounds. i think its to make sure we dont give ourselves a hernia. i would walk around the house all day and vacuum or dust. needless to say i had a very clean house for 6 weeks haha! take it easy and good luck

I had surgery on 8/23 and was told that I can only walk for at least a month. Once I go back they will let me know what else I'm able to do. I'm kind of at a stand still as well but just keep focusing on the prize. A healthier me.

I was sleeved on 8/22 also....2 years ago lol.

What's going with your weight loss has nothing to do with whether you're exercising or not. Your body is in starvation mode and that is triggering a stall. It's totally and completely normal and usually happens 2-5 weeks out from surgery. No worries. Get your Protein and fluids and stay the course. The stall will pass and you'll be back to losing in no time!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
