Glimmer120 4 Posted September 2, 2016 I just had balloon placed on 8/29. No complications with procedure itself as far as I know. I wasn't wearing my contacts during the procedure. Now my near sighted vision is blurred with either my glasses or contacts. Has anybody heard of this? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
theantichick 2,204 Posted September 2, 2016 Did you have a patch behind your ear for nausea? sent from mobile device
Shirleyd90 20 Posted September 2, 2016 If you had the patch for your nasea that is where your blurred vision is coming from! It took me two weeks to get past having blurred vision trying to see things up close even after the patch had been taken off for a week.

Shirleyd90 20 Posted September 2, 2016 Ok no problem! Give it a week or two and you will be back to normal!
theantichick 2,204 Posted September 2, 2016 It shouldn't really take that long, but yes a side effect of the scopolamine patch is blurred vision. If you haven't already, take it off. Let your doc know if your vision doesn't clear in a couple of days.
Djmohr 6,965 Posted September 2, 2016 Yup.....it is that patch. I had the same thing during my Brachioplasty and had forgotten they put one of those on me. I took it off on day 4 post op and within 24 hours my vision was back. Incidentally, pain meds can cause some of that as well.
Rokumok4 53 Posted September 2, 2016 I asked my surgeon the same question. He said it could be the Scopolamine patch or it could be the gel they put in your eyes before they tape them shut for surgery. Note to self: I don't have to take this day all at once but rather one step, one breath and one moment at a time. I am only one person.
