Muscle Milk Light Protein Shake

Recommended Posts

costco has $4 off Muscle Milk Protein shakes. I have never tried them. Are they worth trying? Is there a particular flavor that is better than the others?

My go to Protein drinks currently are Premier Protein (Chocolate) and unjury (Chocolate).

The "original flavour" is better than the "100 calorie" version IMO (makes sense :P )

I will give Muscle Milk Light a try. Hopefully costco will have chocolate. Worst case I will hand out unused containers at my next WLS support group.

I used Muscle Milk Light (vanilla Creme) Protein powder to mix up my Protein shake. I added a half a banana before I blended it. It was the only Protein Shake that I tolerated. So yes it is very good. I tried chocolate because I like chocolate but chocolate did not taste good to me.

Saw a Berries and vanilla in the store and bought it, damn it was good. I'm using the muscle milk powder now for pre-op liquid. 1 scoop with ice, skim milk, strawberries, and some flax seed and damn tasty!

I bought a case of the Muscle Milk Light chocolate. I have had three containers so far and its my least favorite of the ready to drink Protein shakes and tastes overly sweet. However, with that said, I will probably buy another case because it is much cheaper than Premier Protein (at least while it is on sale at Costco). I may try to make it into a smoothie by adding ice and berries.

@@DRKExpressions or anyone else, what is the brand of the Protein Water you posted? I could not make out the name. This may be just what I need. Thanks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
