Staples and x-rays

I know that the internal staples do not trigger the metal detector during a TSA screening but does anyone know if the staples show up on a chest x-ray? I'm assuming they do but that is a question I didn't think to ask my surgeon.

I just had a cat scan - but I didn't ask. I just asked how it all looked. the cat scan was for something else.

I've read that they will show up on an xray and that if you are getting an MRI you should tell them you have staples although it is safe to get an MRI with them.

A friend of mine told me her chiropractor who didn't know she'd had the sleeve almost had a heart attack when they did X-rays because he didn't know what the staples were. So they definitely show up on X-ray.

I just had to have a cat scan as well as x-rays this week for a kidney stone and they told me that while the staples showed up, they didn't cause a problem.
