Hi Foevlo,

You had gastric sleeve which is different from my modified RNY but I have to watch every carb and keep under 35g daily, my Proteins at 50-60g and fluids need to be at 45-60 oz inorder to not have weight variations. Over the time I have had 5-10 lb increases when I didnt monitor for a day or 2 in a row. So now since it has been 10 months since my initial surgery I have lost 145 lbs. I am 5ft tall and now weigh 140 but have 15 more lbs to loose by my anniversary date. I am officially on a watch yourself and your food and Fluid intake so I can make goal. Please feel free to email me and I would be open to a diet buddy. If you are watching everything and still feel you are not having the success you want I suggest you talk to your surgeon and they can update you on how they feel you are comming along. Every month I feel unsure that I have made progress unless I compare to the beginning and take pictures and only weigh weekly, I get defeated easily. I still have a bad self image even though others compliment me and are amazed by the difference from pre surgery. So what I am saying is we are the hardest judge of ourselves and at only 4 months out you have lost nearly 10 lbs a month. Wow that is wonderful. Before weight loss surgery I only gained weight and for a year I tried to just loose 2 lbs and it was impossible. So great job so far. Dont be disappointed you are successful and you are changing, loosing, and other people cannot be the measure for you. Continue your journey and in 6 more months you will have lost 100 lbs. Think of it that way. You are awsome.

I feel ya. I had surgery 4/26 and lost 45 lbs total. Have only lost 2 lbs in the last 2 months. I stopped tracking, than started tracking my food again, started walking but still can't seem to break the stall. Now I'm feeling a little down, I see myself going back to old of eating bad. I'm just not eating enough Protein. I stocked up last night on Protein so hoping to get back on track tomorrow with Water and protein & see if that works. I guess if we our losing its better than not losing. Before surgery it was hard to lose a pound.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
