What to look forward to

Recommended Posts

I am due to have GS at Beaumont Troy in October. I am trying to make a list to keep me motivated of what to look forward to during and after weight loss such as being able to cross my legs. Any ideas?

Being able to shave the backside of my leg.

Having my husband ask if the article of clothing is mine or my daughters.

Not having to eat before going to a function for the fear of being looked at for eating too much.

Being able to participate in activities instead of just watching

Having a lap

I could go on :)

So many......you'll stumble from one to the other and wonder how you never thought of "that" one before....

Reduced pain

Ability to do whatever you want

Smiling all the time

Sit in any booth, chair, stool, bar, etc, etc, etc

Airline flights w/o fear of having room or having to use a damn seat belt extender

Walking into the gym and feeling like you belong there

Ability to go to any restaurant and order from any menu......yet have the knowledge to know how to order a healthy meal

Last but certainly not least.......sex damnit sex. Enjoy thyself like never before.....or at least like a teenager.

Oh there's so many! I'd second all of these! Mostly, as a woman, crossing my legs, fitting in a stadium seat (or any seat) better, not getting so winded so easily, and....sex!

Oh and the boot thing. My husband bought me these awesome Michael Kors boots for Christmas last year. Not wide enough. But I never returned them. I'm hoping I can wear them this Christmas.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
