I would love to know what a day in the life of 'you' is like! What's generally on your plate? Are you snacking between meals, or do you try 3 meals and then that's it? I also need to know tips for boredom eating - I need to STOP thinking about food when my mind begins to wander and I also need to resist snacking after dinner. So far I am going quite well and avoiding this boredom eating, but other times I find my hand reaching for the fridge (grrr).

So far, at 7 weeks out, I tend to do:

Breakfast - half a piece of Soy and Linseed toast with a poached egg (I used to try a shake but for some reason my sleeve dumps anything liquidy or 'slider' foods for breakfast).

snack - I go for a Greek yoghurt or nibble on a Protein bar

lunch - generally I go for a high Protein meal or leftovers from dinner, but never eat a lot. Sometimes it's chicken and salad, or bolognese mince with cheese.

Snack - usually I'll finish my snack from the morning!

Dinner - chicken etc with a small side of salad.

My day has been -

Breakfast- low fat low carb zucchini slice or yoghurt

snack - low fat cottage cheese with a few chunks of fruit or curried egg on cracker

lunch - something meaty - mince, mince slice, chicken breast, turkey meat

Snack - humus with cracker

dinner - up to trying some steak, pork and chicken skewers. Also tried steamed fish, mince and veggies and some steamed greens.

Trying very hard not to eat after dinner. Opting of a Decaf coffee with a little milk if I fee like must have something

Colouring in helps distract me if I get a bit munchy later at night

Thanks for the input @@missdeeAus and I like your ideas for after dinner/boredom! I usually have a tea sometimes with Stevia to get that 'sweet' escape. Curried egg sounds yummy too. I can't seem to stomach boiled eggs well so some curried egg sounds great.

Ten months out.

Yesterday was a workday as is today.

Breakfast: Premier Protein banana shake + two servings of mozzarella string cheese

Lunch: A serving of chicken salad from our cafeteria

Dinner: Two golfball sized meatballs that I'd grilled on Friday. A couple spoonfuls of marina sauce over them.

Snacks: I don't do Snacks. I don't need them and they only contribute to thinking about food. I'd rather just space out my meals and call it good. I still have a good deal of body fat to burn. Staying low carb is keeping that going. Once I hit my maintenance level.....then I'll start including Snacks if needed (nuts, cheese, fruit and crunchy fresh vegetables ).

Lots of Water (120+ ounces) and 4 cups of coffee throughout the day, too.

If I need a snack at night because we eat very early like between 4-5pm most days then I get a frozen low fat yogurt. It's good that way, I do have to stick it in microwave for 18 sec so I can at least get a spoon in it lol.

11 months out today.

Breakfast: one egg, small turkey sausage link, sprinkle of 2% cheese.

Morning snack: light baby bell cheese, cup air popped popcorn.< /p>

Lunch: 2.5 ounces Protein, normally chicken. Tablespoon shredded Parmesan, sugar free Jello.

Afternoon snack: 80 calorie Greek yogurt.

Dinner: 3 ounces Protein (chicken or fish normally, sometimes steak), zucchini pancake, sometimes small piece of bread.< /p>

That's my typical eating every day. I have to do the Snacks or else I'd never get enough protein or calories each day. I stay really low carb. I exercise most days but nothing drastic usually walking or a light weights routine that I do at home. I have lost 151.6 so far since surgery.

I'm 7 1/2 months out, have lost over 155lbs. My day looks like this...

Breakfast; premier Protein shake

Lunch; 3-4oz of Protein

Supper; 3-4oz protein

I drink 84oz of Water a day.

I don't have a snack unless I've done a really hard workout that day like going to bootcamp, or hot yoga. On those days I will have a Protein Bar or some other form of protein.

I'm just not hungry to eat more than that.

I'm 7 weeks out as well.

This is my usual routine if I don't eat out:

Breakfast: 1 fage greek yogurt or a Protein shake made w/ fairlife milk

Mid morning snack: a small piece of cheese

Lunch: 2-3 oz of grilled chicken breast or more cheese

Afternoon snack: usually another small piece of cheese <_< If I have more chicken I'll have another 2 oz or so

Dinner: often 2-3 slices of boars head turkey rolled up with cheese

When I eat out, which is at least 3-4x a week I stick with Protein. eggs for Breakfast, sometimes an omelet with turkey bacon baked into the eggs (and cheese), grilled octopus, salmon or tuna, sometimes lamb for lunch and dinner.

If I need a late night treat I have a sugar free popsicle...or a piece of cheese.

I normally use half and half but the grocery store around the corner was out so I got heavy whipping cream. I have been way under on calories for days so this was a day I was trying to hit my calorie goal. If I don't eat enough calories, I don't lose. This was over the weekend.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
