Universoul_D 14 Posted August 28, 2016 I am on the pre op diet now. But as things progress into the different stages I know I will have to fight my family members off my food. They will eat anything and everything. We have a lot of fend for yourself days in our house when food gets low. When there is no primary food left, they will set eyes on my diet food. Once thats gone they move on to whatever food shows up. Which is usually something I can't eat. So now they have eaten all MY food, and then they find other food that I cant eat. Now and I am thrown off my dietary plans. And its either dont eat, or eat things Iam not supposed to.They are doing it now and I am only on pre op. Lucky me they can't drink the Robard, but my SF Jello, and Soup broths I have to damn near hide. Anybody else have these issues? Sent while fleeing from naughty food. Jane1979 270 Posted August 28, 2016 You must have teenagers in the house... Honestly, I think the only thing you can do is sit them all down and make them understand that you are doing this for your health, not for fun. And while you do understand that they are hungry monsters, they need to leave something for momma bear. And seeing they enjoy broth and Jello soooooo much, maybe that's all that will be allowed into the house from now on. No more pizza, chips, soda, etc. and if they don't like it, they can go to a friends house and eat. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Universoul_D 14 Posted August 28, 2016 Yup 17 year old twins and a 50+ mother. Who asked me the other day "Well since your gonna be on liquids the next 2 months does that mean we get to use most of your food stamps? I was utterly disgusted. Jane1979 270 Posted August 28, 2016 Ugh. @@Universoul_D Oh lord... No that does not mean they get to use most of the stamps! My understanding, is your going to progress, it's Soup now, but soon you need puréed foods. Ohhh I hear that SOME Protein shakes are covered by FS! I'm not 100% sure on this. If it has NUTRITIONAL values rather than supplemental values its covered. I would try to buy a couple and see if they pass. Those boogers can get expensive! Everyone seems old enough to make their own food and make their own money to get food. Time to lay down some law. Universoul_D 14 Posted August 28, 2016 Yes FS does cover some. They cover Vega Proteins n Greens. Horrid stuff. And Orgain Plant base Protein powder. Great stuff I have 2 tubs hiding in a box right now. Because guess who came to me 2 weeks ago saying he wants to try Protein shakes in the morning..... And I told mother dear that I would be needed certain food and drinks after surgery so NO, she will not get anymore of my stamps than she already gets when I buy food for the house. Jane1979 270 Posted August 28, 2016 Just text a friend that gets FS and is a shake junkie. She gets the pre made Premier shakes at Walmart. Wish I qualified for snap. It would help a lot! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Universoul_D 14 Posted August 28, 2016 I dont get much. After a couple of cans of Protein powder and maybe a couple of cases of Soups there's a little left for them to get stuff for the house. Thats only about 2 weeks work of food. And that's being generous. I'm cashing out the rest of the month. Sent while fleeing from naughty food.< /p>
Universoul_D 14 Posted August 28, 2016 I am happy that with my band I will eat less, but WHAT I eat will matter just as much if not more than how much I eat. And I am not trying to control everyones eating habits. I just need to control my own. Sent while fleeing from naughty food.
