The Starving Mom 47 Posted August 29, 2016 I have been looking also, I used a post partum binder after C-section to help with skin and muscles... think it will help after rny also? It worked wonderfully! Did it help at all with skin? The Starving Mom 47 Posted August 29, 2016 Ah... I was wondering if wearing it would help the skin "bounce back" after weight loss... after my csec I wore mine about 2 months and you could barely tell I had been pregnant aside from a small pooch, and some stretch marks... Superstoked 4 Posted August 29, 2016 IDK, It may help with the elasticity of the skin keep it tight as it reduces and it won't be as saggy waggy???? What do you think about that argument for binding? As well as support for stitches and healing? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted August 30, 2016 The support is worth it. I'm not sure it has to be a binder, anything that holds you in, like some light Shapewear will work. The support helps you not strain your stomach muscles, it especially makes it easier to sleep and sit up
Sophies mommy 15 Posted August 31, 2016 I'm a week and 5 days out from my post op and just started feeling a "pull" on my left side about 3 fingers under the top incision site...I think now added support maybe nice but never would have wanted to hod on to the gas following surgery. TheRealMeIsHere! 863 Posted August 31, 2016 I was looking at bariatric abdominal binders on Amazon. The one I'm looking at costs about $35. Is it worth having for the surgery? More than likely, the surgeon will put one on in the OR. After the drains are removed, then you will be able to buy others. I, personally liked extra firm waist nippers and bodysuit types. I was told that the longer I wear compression, the better the final result. Since this was my one and only shot, I wore compression for 6 months.
Leena 108 Posted August 31, 2016 After my initial surgery I was given a pain pillow. It was something to hold and press against where my incisions were when I got up to move. After other surgeries that I had I used a abdominal binder. The binder was great at compressing everything.

Sajijoma 1,324 Posted September 6, 2016 I didn't use a binder of any kind after my RNY. What I did use and I feel made the best decision for me was bike shorts. It gave just the right amount of compression to hold everything in place and I didn't have to spend $35 on something with no further use. The shorts I used for exercise until they fell off so I got my money's worth out of them.
