russtee 3 Posted August 27, 2016 Do anyone have problems with their throat? Everytime I eat. I feel like something is stuck. Any suggestions? Sent from my XT1080 using the BariatricPal App

Jobey 177 Posted August 27, 2016 What the last poster said and wait 30 secs between mouthfuls. It's really hard at first cause it's never been something you have to think about when eating but it really helps [emoji4]
OzRoo 1,492 Posted August 27, 2016 @@russtee I don't know what food stage you are currently on, but for me, anything that was too dry had that effect. So, runny purees, then soft food with lots of sauces or stock. Just moist food. I reacted badly to a too dry scrambled egg, got stuck in the middle of my oesophagus, got horrible burning, and then had to run to the bathroom. Other drier foods used to give me reflux, so even now I make sure my food is moist. And as others said, small bites and chew well. Good luck.

OzRoo 1,492 Posted August 28, 2016 OK, the last stage where more solids are introduced. As I mentioned earlier, try adding sauces, yoghurt, stock to food. I mainly ate minces, such as chicken/turkey/veal mince with cheese sauce or another Protein type sauce, so the food was moist. Anything too dry used to get stuck. At times I would take a tiny sip of Water of tea, just a tiny one. Chewed like mad, and ate very slowly as I had reflux if I didn't do that. I also dumped after beef mince, so I stayed away from it. I still eat very moist food at close to 6 months post op. Good luck!
