LoveAlwaysKia 37 Posted August 26, 2016 I was sleeved on 8/3/16 and I am still learning what these new feelings mean. I am on pureed foods. Sometimes when I eat I have a lot of gas and need to burp a lot. What does that mean? Am I eating too fast? Wrong foods? I just had refried Beans and I burped the whole time and I am still burping. This happens almost daily. Any insight? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Pescador 1,374 Posted August 26, 2016 Eating to fast. My husband eats very slowly but when he eats faster he burps. I never burp, so also it must be an individual thing. I try so hard to slow down my eating. Three years later, my husband still puts down his fork between bites.
WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted August 26, 2016 (edited) Burping becomes a common occurrence for many. Eating more slowly may or may not make a little difference. Saying "Excuse me" becomes common, as does rolling one's eyes to indicate embarrassment. If you were thinking burping is a medical problem of some sort, no. LoveAlwaysKia 37 Posted August 26, 2016 Thanks. I will try slowing down. This has such a learning curve. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Ale Nunez 80 Posted August 26, 2016 It happens to me too when I eat too fast. It has lasted up to 10-15 minutes. At first when I would drink something cold I would have also hiccups. It has gone away fortunately.
