Looking for easy food ideas to bring to work. Preferably No microwave or fridge, but I'll take those ideas as well. Looking for snack ideas AND lunch. I'm not a fan of Protein bars, but I have a shake every morning and then chicken for dinner.

I never use the fridge, I have an ice pack I put in my lunch box, but I usually do have foods for reheating. some I put in a ceramic ramekin that I heat on a cup warmer. so - you're probably not interested in my lunch selections.

sometimes for snack I take half a cup of low fat cottage cheese and some sort of fruit (a few apple slices - or some cherries - or part of a pear - or some blueberries - a small peach) sometimes I take half an ounce of roasted almonds and a few dried cherries.

Thin sliced meat wrapped around cheese. Add a sliver of pickle or arugula, mustard or LF mayo if you want. The portion is wild; the first time I brought 3 or 4 and still can only eat one. Think about what you want, remove the carbs and experiment. Great job on your hard work your rocking' it!

I hear a lot of you saying low fat cottage cheese and low fat other things. I have learned that the reduced fat and low fat are worse for you because it contains more carbs then the full version. They take the fat out and add carbs for taste. I eat whole fat everything, cheese, butter, sour cream, cream cheese, mayo, Salad Dressing. I only look at sugar and carb content! I loose weight really well doing that.

My lunch bag consistently contains 2-3 turkey sausage links. 2 Colby jack cheese sticks grilled chicken cut into bite size cubes. If I could eat boiled eggs I would have 1 in there. I prepare either a Protein shake or a green smoothie with a scoop of whey Protein powder to drink every morning and of course my Water bottle!

The items vary depending on what I've cooked but this week thats been my situation.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
