melbell2222 244 Posted August 25, 2016 Lol I sleep on my back with my hands under my butt. Then I'll shift legs if my tail bone hurts.... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Kari1985 70 Posted August 25, 2016 I slept on my back or right side. If I was on my side I would have a pillow pushed right up against my stomach to support it. I'm just now, at 4 weeks post op, able to sleep on my left side. The muscle around the biggest incision would hurt way too bad.
dede_mont 105 Posted August 26, 2016 I use pillows to prop myself up or i sleep on my left side with pillows around my belly like you sleep when your pregnant. Sent from my LG-H343 using the BariatricPal App
hdw85 48 Posted August 26, 2016 I slept on my back for a few hours, then I slept in my recliner for a few hours for the first week. I then used pillows and put them under my stomach and laid on my side until I was healed enough to sleep on my stomach again. Taylor C 15 Posted August 27, 2016 It may be more comfortable to be in a recliner or something of the like. Something that can elevate your torso like the hospital beds do so as to relieve pressure from your stomach and back Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Shi-Shi80 73 Posted August 28, 2016 (edited) I'm a side sleeper so I sleep on my right side with a wedge pillow on that side. I've been sleeping like that since I came home Wednesday (I had surgery Tuesday) and it's been wonderful! :-) I had bypass surgery.
