So Im doing really good on the low carb diet now, clothes are fitting looser, but scale is not budging.

I've been really constipated. Everyone tells me to drink a lot of Water, but, can't stand the taste.

Iam having a hard time getting in 4 cups per day. Does anyone know of another liquid source that doesn't have any of the junk sweeteners, like aspartame?

I would use crystal light over ice but doesn't crystal light have aspartame in it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

FRESH FRUIT!!!

Put fresh fruit in with your Water and let it soak for a few minutes, then drink it.

I love to do oranges with blueberries, strawberries with lemon and cucumbers with a few mint leaves...

Also, if you have a fitbit or a alarm on your phone, set it for a certain time and KNOW you have to drink the Water then...

I have my fitbit go off every hour to remind me to drink a serving of water and by the end of the work day, I got all 8!

Hope this helps.

Well, technically your not eating it, so you may want to ask your nutritionist if that would be acceptable or not...

Are you allowed black coffee? It's an excellent source of liquid (the people who tell you it dehydrates are misinformed) plus it helps with Constipation.< /p>

broth is another good option, no sweeteners there.

Low sodium V-8 (not too much, it still has carbs)

Fair Life or Carb Master milk (plain, not vanilla or chocolate)

Water problem

@@northstar9148

many people don't like Water (i love it)

i'll tell you what i would say to them

Deal With It !!! Get Over it!! ;)

liquids are essential in this program

"normal" people should also be drinking 64 oz a day

I have heard here that many people drink Chrystal Lite

i guess it does have "fake junk" in it, but.....

my NUT says to count my 11 oz Protein shake as a liquid

it also has 25 gr Protein, so that's great

milk, tea (no soda of course)

hopefullly you'll get other suggestions

constipation?? never had that problem - good luck with that

scale not moving is a bummer

but that problem can happen periodically

clothes are fitting better / great

take your measurements about once a month

you'll realize that you are losing inches - even if not weight

but it all comes out in the wash - you will lose weight too

good luck bud

@@northstar9148 Infused Water should be okay to drink if you were told no fruit. You get some of the Vitamins and nutrients but not the fructose or calories. You can also try Powerade Zero, Vitamin Water Zero, broth (watch sodium), herbal teas (all sorts of flavors and can have hot or cold), add lemon to regular water or tea, etc. Crystal light may have stevia in some of them - that's a much better alternative than aspartame.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
