6 Month Retrospective

Recommended Posts

Okay,

I was planning this for my 6 month post op anniversary, but I forgot & went on holidays instead.

Stats are in my ticker so you can see them. Clothing sizes I went from a 4XL from the Big & Tall shop to a XL, even a large in some cases.

I figure I still have about 40lbs to go.

On with the slide show.

Before:

This is much of the reason why I did this. This is the happiest day of my life.

Current (about 253lbs):

Thanks to all of you here for your support & inspiration.

Andrew

Here are a couple more afters. Can you spot me not following the bandster rules? The outside one was taken at the Ethel M. Factory in Vegas (They make really good chocolate). The other was me at some Casino (Mermaids maybe in Vegas).

Andrew,

All I can say is you look fabulous!!!!! There is such huge difference in the before and after pictures. You are truly a motivation to me as I start out on this journey. Oh yes, your babies are adorable! It's amazing how much our children can snap us back to reality and give us the push to take better care of ourselves.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

That is actually the same baby in all the pictures.

Yes, you are right, after AJ was born I new there was more to life than just being.

I had to get busy living instead of killing myself with food.

Thanks,

Yes, that was a beer in a football. I figure it was about 1.5L. It went down great, and it was ice cold. I did not finish it though because my wife would have had to carry me back to the hotel. It was not my first of the day, and I am a pretty cheap drunk these days.

I really have no problem with carbonation, especially beer. I try to avoid it (although the picture may indicate otherwise) due to the excess calories. I figure life is too short to not enjoy the occasional indulgence. I have found that the natural carbonation of the beer creates smaller bubbles that dont bother me. I have to burp a little more, but I find it way easier to drink than pop.

Oops, didn't realize it was the same baby in the pics. Absolutely gorgeous...you should have another! :rolleyes

No worries. When I look at the pictures I cant believe how much he has changed in a short while.

I think we will have more in time. My wife had a pretty rough pregnancy, and the delivery was pretty traumatic for both of us due to him not breathing for quite some time when he came out & my wife losing alot of blood. I had nightmares for a while and there are certain birth scenes on TV that bring it back pretty vividly.

We are really enjoying him though, so really I dont know if we are in a huge hurry to have another. In our eyes he is perfect.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
