cindym44 75 Posted August 24, 2016 (edited) i know this is a difficult question, but I am a clearance shopper and would love to shop for some new "after" clothes. Right now, I am heaviest in my upper body...from the waist up. I really hope to lose this upper body weight and hope to have a body that is all in proportion. My current size is 2XL top and size 14 pants, but the material has to be somewhat stretchy. How did you compare in before and after sizes? Thank you!!! P.S. Surgery is 9/14!! KristenLe 5,979 Posted August 24, 2016 @@cindym44 It will completely depend - your body will lose in certain places faster than others - and shift. You may skip sizes all together. I wouldn't spend too much on clothes before you know what size you'll need. Good luck on your upcoming surgery!!!
Christinamo7 4,042 Posted August 24, 2016 I'd just buy a size down and two sizes down if you see great sales. by the time you get below that, there will be new sales.
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted August 24, 2016 I wouldn't buy anything. There are always sales and always clearance. You might lose so fast you skip sizes. You might have a completely different shape. You are more likely to end up with clothes you can never wear than deals. Just shop as you go.
AgentSmith 39 Posted August 24, 2016 I would wait. Also, for me shopping in stores I could never go and finding deals I could never find because they don't discount huge clothes very much was a great reward as I lost weight. I became a HUGE motivator for me... I did it all the way down 130lbs and like others said you will bet likely also skip sizes. Wait, it'll be with it! alighterkaan 128 Posted August 25, 2016 I also agree. I would wait. My reason for waiting though is because as I've been losing, I've been working towards this pair of jeans in my closet that I bought at a 16 (I started at a 26). I'm in an 18 now and they are still NO where close to fitting. I got really discouraged when stuff doesn't fit yet. I can tell you it's a way better experience to wait and be shocked in the store, than to just buy and become impatient!
