wanabthin 0 Posted August 29, 2007 An assistant principal went to the first day of school and FORGOT to take her 2 yo to the sitter and left her in the car for 8hrs in 100 degree heat!!! Apparently she did remember to get the doughnuts out of the hatch back before going in though. I have been unable to get over this! There is now this big debate about if she should face charges or if she has suffered enough over the loss of her child. I don't know about everyone else, but when I'm driving my 12 month old around I look in the back about every 5 minutes! I'm constantly interacting with him and even continue to check on him if he is sleeping. How could anyone possibly forget about their child????
angiec 0 Posted August 29, 2007 There was a story like this a few years ago. I couldn't get it out of my head either. The story had something to do with a newborn/young baby that was still turned around in the seat and the parent being sleep deprived. She also forgot the baby in the car on an incredibly hot day and the baby died. Being a daycare provider it was a BIG eye opener and I ALWAYS call my parents if they don't drop their child off within an hour of their normal time now. It is so sad and I can't imagine the guilt, heartache, and sadness that the family is going through.:cry
