Ok an am a band to sleeve convert and been placed on pureed diet today. I am able to tolerate 4 ounces am wondering if that is the max that I can do or is my max gonna be around a full cup? I felt full and no pain. Just curious. Maybe I shouldn't ask.

For me, it was close to 2 years out, before I could eat a whole cup, even now at 4 1/2 years out,it depends on what it is. With dense Protein, I can eat far less AND keeps me satisfied longer, so less calories in the long run. With soft foods or slider foods, I can eat more, but am hungry sooner.

i agree. 2 years out i could barely eat full cup of food and if it's the wrong food (crackers and dips, carbs etc) i can eat more than i can a piece of meat or eggs etc.

at this point you have MASSIVE swelling and inflammation that will take months to go away. enjoy the great restriction you have from this and focus on knowing what to eat, etc. best of luck!!

I was so used to my lap band that not having the same restriction is weird. But I thank you for the feedback and will try to just not worry about it.

Hippie72 I am 5 months in and I can only eat 1/2 cup. Happy with that. Don't wanna push it as your stomach will stretch and it will take more to fill u up

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
