silvermoon 1 Posted August 22, 2016 I am hoping to get a gastric bypass by the first part of the year. Does anyone have any thing that can help? Sent from my GT-P3113 using the BariatricPal App
cbonet 336 Posted August 22, 2016 If you have other health conditions make sure they are included in your insurance as application.. I went from 6 month wait to 3 months. Good luck Sent from my VS986 using the BariatricPal App

cbonet 336 Posted August 23, 2016 I was denied first then I filed an appeal, sleep apnea, thyroid disease and the denial was overturned. I also got all the requirements done in 6 weeks, stress test, blood work, psych, endoscopy, dietician.... That made a big difference in getting Sept surgery date. Good health to you Sent from my VS986 using the BariatricPal App

Sent from my GT-P3113 using the BariatricPal App You weigh 130lbs? I don't think you will qualify for surgery and don't think it would be safe to have bypass. James Marusek 5,244 Posted August 23, 2016 @@silvermoon BMI is normally computed by height, weight, age and your sex. If you are 5 foot 1 inch tall and 130 pounds, even when you factor in age, I do not see how you can have a BMI of 44. If these are really your numbers I tend to agree with @@KristenLe, that this surgery may be unsafe for you.

NOVAMOM348 20 Posted August 23, 2016 I am hoping that I am able to get GBP done sometime early next year, also. I would say just be patient and don't let the wait discourage you. That's what I'm trying to do! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Djmohr 6,965 Posted August 23, 2016 @@silvermoon The first step is contacting your insurance company to understand what the requirements are for you. I would also ask them to recommend a Bariatric center of excellence so you can get started on the paperwork. Have you done these steps already?
prairieprincess 13 Posted August 23, 2016 I am in Canada and things work slightly differently but you should have no issues because I am almost exactly the same height and weight and as soon as my Iron is up a little more they are figuring I should have surgery before Christmas. Again I am unfamiliar with the workings of insurance in the states but medically I can tell you since we are identical in height and weight you should have zero issues on that front
