Fat feet. WARNING: gross photo included.

Hi all!

I am set for very first appointment Sep 9.

I was wondering if anyone experienced losing weight in your feet.

I'm not talking about the length of your foot. I mean the width and the tops. Mines are so fat on top that I can not even wear sneakers let alone real shoes. I've been stuck in crappy flip flops for a few years now. Family seems to think its Water. But who retains Water for 3 years!?

I will attach a pic so you can see what I mean.

WARNING. THE ATTACHED PHOTO MAY CAUSE GASPS, fainting and vomiting.

Ps. I know, I need a pedicure. But arthritis pain has been very bad the past few weeks. post-298308-14718819025487_thumb.jpg

I have severe lymphoedema and lipoedema in my legs but it ends at my ankles. That said, since I have lost over 200 pounds so far, it is much easier to wear shoes!

No boots anytime soon, though.

I had pretty bad swelling in my feet and lower legs and it was really the first place I started loosing.....My surgery was 5/16/16 and I've lost 63 pounds so far and all the swelling in my feet is pretty much gone.

Good luck to you!!

I hope you were kidding. Chubby feet aren't cause for gasping, fainting or vomiting! :-)

@@kmorri that's great! 63 lbs congrats and keep up the awesome work. It's amazing how simple things like wearing normal shoes can become a goal.

Glad to hear all your swelling is gone. God bless.

Only 6 weeks out but I totally lost weight in my feet. Most of my shoes are too big on me now. I've had to get inserts for many of my nicer shoes and I think I went from a 7 to a 6-61/2.

This past week I have come to the conclusion that my feet are getting a tad skinnier. Been doing my best to keep active, since the end of May I am down 77lbs.. The past week when I have gotten back from my daily walks, I have either found new blisters or bloody feet (broken blisters). I was complaining to my daughter this weekend, because the shoes are well worn and shouldn't be causing blisters. She replied, "Dad, your feet have shrunk like everything else on your body. They are just sliding in your shoes more causing the blisters".

So yeah, feet can eventually get a tad smaller width wise. I guess I can suffer through some blisters.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
