Best insurance for quick approval

Recommended Posts

Hey ... I've been looking at some of the forums and can't find one solid answer lol.. I'm in need of the lab band and wanted to know if you guys know any insurances that have a quick turn around for surgery. And what hospital should I go to. I've been doing my research and I seen Jacobi was good and metro plus insurance or any insurance with a PPO .. Helpppppp please ....

Is there anyone from ny???

There is no answer. Every insurance company has their own provisions and regulations. Each company has parameters for approving all surgeries as well as testing. In my case my insurance company states a 6 month supervised wait. However due to serious health issues an appeal was won and I was approved (after first being denied) in 2 months.

I switched over to metro plus and called the hospital and they stated because I have that insurance it will only take 2-3 months.. So excited to get started. When is your surgery date ?

Great! Mine is 9/13. I'm nervous and excited. I had the band years ago. They're removing it and doing the sleeve at the same time, if all goes well.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
