HeavenlyGirl101 36 Posted August 21, 2016 TMI disclaimer: I can't stop the diarrhea and cramping. It occurs every time I drink or eat something. Is this normal? I'm scared of becoming dehydrated. I don't have a doctor in the states as I had my surgery in Mexico. Is anyone else experiencing/ experienced this problem? kelliev2015 136 Posted August 21, 2016 When was your surgery?
daniotra 298 Posted August 21, 2016 I did have diarrhea the first week after surgery (surgery on the states), but it wasn't as bad as what you are describing. Was your surgery recent? It sounds like you might have a case of Montezuma's Revenge (aka traveler's diarrhea). If you are getting dehydrated, go to the ER for fluids and antibiotics. Pescador 1,374 Posted August 21, 2016 One year after surgery I got sick like that for 10 hours on some terrible medicines for gout. I went to the ER and was admitted overnight. I was so sick I could not hold my head up. DEhydration. When in doubt get to the ER.

kelliev2015 136 Posted August 21, 2016 I had surgery on 8/8 and haven't had anything like you are describing at any point. It doesn't sound normal to me. How long has it been going on?
HeavenlyGirl101 36 Posted August 21, 2016 Started around the 12th. I took a stool softener because I hadn't gone in over a week. well, the stool softener did its job but I haven't been the same since. I've been taking Imodium which did help. Im thinking about switching to a pea Protein instead of whey. I'm thinking MN maybe it's dairy. I don't know. KristenLe 5,979 Posted August 21, 2016 Go to Clear liquids to see if it helps - if not - I'd make a trip to the ER. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
KristenLe 5,979 Posted August 21, 2016 @@HeavenlyGirl101 If you don't go go the ER - drink something to replenish your electrolytes (Power Ade Zero, G2) and broth (for sodium).

kelliev2015 136 Posted August 21, 2016 Diarrhea for over a week is a little concerning. One stool softener shouldn't do that. I would go to the ER if it doesn't stop by Wednesday.
HeavenlyGirl101 36 Posted August 28, 2016 It is C DIFF. I also have bad acid reflux and I was reading that prilosec makes the C DIFF worse. I can't win. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App
Pescador 1,374 Posted August 28, 2016 C Diff can be serious. It is a bacterial infection. I would seek a medical opinion.
