I want to stress eat

Recommended Posts

Any ideas on dealing with stress?

I finally have my daughter home from college for this week. She got here yesterday and dropped a huge bomb on us last night and since then I've been craving foods and stress stalking the fridge. I have NOT consumed anything beyond my Water, Soup and Protein drink but the feelings and cravings are bad tonight.

This is my first test in my control. I know I'm not hungry and it's just stress or trying to process what she told me.

Affraid of falling back into bad habits and messing up.

Hope she didn't do anything very bad... But try coloring or crafts something to do with your hands. Go outside walk, watch nature it's a beautiful thing. Write down what you want to do in a year from now. Hope this helps :)

This two shall pass.....start new "good" habits. My new habit is walking. I've been walking almost 10 miles a day! Broken down into 2 different walks but it's a great stress relief. You don't have to do 10 miles but do something that's good for you.

I'm sorry you're feeling stressed and I hope things get better soon.

coffee helps me kill any cravings.

Then some exercise will finish it off.

@@dede_mont I hope your daughter is ok. Take a deep breath and remember how much better you feel eating healthy. Distract yourself... manicure, pedi, massage, clean closets, color, paint, take a walk, brush your dog (I really need to do this!), drink some flavored tea, sit outside and get some sun, go swimming, antiquing, buy something sexy (dress, shoes, nightie)...

Stay strong!

I'm really not stupid.....I do know that this should have read "This too shall pass".......I hate it when I don't see my typos until it's too late to edit them...hahaha

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
