Weak and won't eat.

Recommended Posts

My husband had surgery about 3 and a half weeks ago and eats almost nothing. Says he just can't, nothing taste good, and says he just feels full. He eat about 3/4 of a yogurt for Breakfast and maybe a few more bites of it for lunch. That's its nothing else. He does drink lots of Water. Has anyone else had this happen? He's just very weak and has no desire to try and eat. I had bypass 4 months ago and felt nothing like that.

He has got to eat, whether he feels like it or not. Protein is critical for healing. He won't have any energy until he gets enough nutrition.

Has he met with his NUT? He may need to make an appointment to talk about some strategies for getting enough nutrition.

Thank you, that's what I keep telling him. He also has Parkinson's, so just has to eat. I told him I was going to call his dr Monday. Thanks for your input.

Consider that it may be depression. Of course he MUST eat. I would get him back to the surgeon for a serious discussion!

Get some Protein drinks so he can get some Protein in until you meet with surgeon or nutritionist. Make sure he's drinking fluids with electrolytes and some broth. If you are concerned about him - don't hesitate to call the surgeon. Prayers...
