QueenOfTheTamazons 634 Posted September 22, 2016 I've just started my liquid diet today. My surgery date is October 5th. I am at my highest weight at 225. I am 59 years old. Can’t stay like this much longer. I realize that I have to make some serious changes in my life. I’ve decided to write a sort of journal of my experience of going through this time in my life. I admit that I am somewhat scared and anxious but it is something that I want very much. I want to feel HEALTHY again. Just had my first shake. Not so bad. Probably won’t say that after a few days of these drinks. I’m nervous and I don’t know why. I realize that I have to do this for 2 weeks. Will I succeed? I will really try my best. To come this far. I must push myself like I never have before. I have all the co-morbidities that go with the weight gain such as high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, joint, back pain and sleep apnea. Very dangerous combination. Im a 10/fiver too! Good luck!

courtknee_luv 52 Posted September 24, 2016 Im Scheduled for October 6, I started my pre-op diet on Sept 22. It is HARD; I'm trying to eat/ drink every 2 hours to keep ahead of the hunger. as long as I commit to that its not AS bad. What is CRAZY is that I got weighed at my pre-op appointment and then I weighed myself this morning, and I'm down 7 pounds .. For me starting this is making me feel like this is getting more real. I think for me the pre-op diet has really made me think how much I want to do this operation. I'm starting to get past the being hungry all the time. My NUT is making me eat 'normal' food and I'm not on the shakes. I think being on the shakes would be easier. I've done CWP and was much easier than making food. I'm 9lbs down since 19th and I feel good. Hang in there Hun. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
shoodle72 61 Posted September 24, 2016 My dietitian has put me on 3 weeks of Optifast Meal Replacement shakes x3 times daily. I'm also allowed to have salad vegetables such as lettuce, capsicum, onion, tomatoes and no fat Salad Dressing. I can also have steamed vegetables at dinner time except for starchy vegetables such as potato, corn etc. I can have sugarless jelly and sugar free diet soft drinks too. I can cope with this.
